Pilotwings Resort is a game where you fly around Wuhu Island (the location of Wii Sports Resort) using either a plane, rocket belt, or hang glider. When you start the game for the first time, you can do a trial flight with 1 or more vehicles for 1 minute or longer each. Then you can choose between Mission Flight Mode and Free Flight Mode. Mission Flight Mode has 5 levels of difficulty (training, bronze, silver, gold, and platinum) with at least 6 challenges per difficulty (at least 2 per vehicle) and 3 stars per challenge, for more than 90 stars total. Once you get to gold difficulty, you unlock diorama mode. Free Flight Mode gives you 2 minutes to fly around the island searching for (i) points, like Island Flyover in Wii Sports Resort. Collecting enough (i) points (or unlocking a new Mission Flight difficulty) can unlock new things. This brings me to the individual vehicles. The plane’s strength is its simplicity. It’s a fine, fun thing to fly with a great speed boost, but sadly, when not using speed boost, it’s very slow. The rocket belt is my favorite, because the Slide Pad provides amazing precision control. The hang glider is my least favorite, but hitting air funnels is still pretty cool. Pilotwings Resort is a good game.
